After flying for Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong, Scotty made the decision to return home to New Zealand in 2018, because he missed our beautiful country and its people - the place he calls home. He joined Air New Zealand, where he progressed through the ranks and achieved his childhood dream, becoming a Captain on the ATR fleet. Alongside his aviation career, Scotty and his fiancée, Mia, welcomed their little boy, Kippy.
Over the past year, Scotty and his family have faced an incredibly difficult journey. Following major brain surgery, they have navigated countless hospital appointments, scans, treatment planning, and the uncertainty that comes with such a devastating diagnosis.
Despite every challenge, Scotty has remained determined to fight for as much time as possible with his young family.
The next phase of Scotty’s journey will involve further brain surgery and ongoing treatment. While New Zealand provides outstanding care, there are significant costs associated with treatment, recovery, travel, lost income, and exploring promising therapies that are not fully funded. Every dollar raised helps ease that burden and allows Scotty and his family to focus on what matters most - his fight and precious time together.
